In the matter between

and

J U D G M E NT (LEAVE TO APPEAL)

BAM. J: This is another matter where a woman was murdered by her husband, or her live-in partner. The problem in this matter for the accused, was that there was a protection order issued, that he should not get close to the deceased. But he ignored it and he failed to explain what happened on that day. He denied that he was the person who killed the deceased.

It was a vicious attack on the deceased. He started, he killed her then he stabbed, kept on stabbing her with his knife, 33 times in total and then he also mutilated the body. He showed no respect at all and no mercy.

I was satisfied at the end of the day that he was the culprit and that he deserved the sentence of life imprisonment.

In my view there are no reasonable prospects of success on the conviction and the sentence and the application is dismissed.

BAM, J
